PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to mold even a thin plate-like molded product in high precision by satisfying such conditions that the inner side surfaces of a cylinder having a specific shape are brought into point or surface contact with the side surfaces of a preliminary glass molded product, when it is assumed that the preliminary glass molded product is inserted into the cylinder. SOLUTION: This preliminary glass molded product is a columnar article having a polygonal cross-sectional shape in the diameter direction, a shape surrounded with two or more conical curves or a shape surrounded with one or more straight lines and one or more conical curves, and satisfies either of conditions (i)-(iii). (i) When it is assumed that the preliminary glass molded product is inserted into a cylinder having the same height as the preliminary glass molded product, a rectangular cross-sectional frame shape in the diameter direction, and four inner side surface sizes each capable of being brought into contact with the side surfaces or edges of the preliminary glass molded product, one or more inner side surfaces of the cylinder and brought into line contact with the side surfaces of the preliminary glass molded product. (ii) One or more inner side surfaces of the cylinder are brought into line contact with the side surface edges of the preliminary glass molded product. (iii) The four inner side surfaces of the cylinder are brought into surface contact with the side surfaces of the preliminary glass molded product, etc. |
