BAR JOINING MACHINE FOR CONTINUOS HOT ROLLING AND BAR BUTTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely conduct hot bar joining by conducting elevating/lowering/ advancing/retreating position control of a clamp device with using the output of a bar end recognition sensor and output of a position detector of a clamp device. SOLUTION: A preceding rolled bar 1a is clamped by clamp devices 5a, 5b, a succeeding rolled bar 1b is held by clamp devices 6a, 6b. The clamp device 5a advances/retreats a rolled bar 1a to a desired position by hydraulic cylinders 8, 11 in the elevating direction and line advancing direction. Position sensors 12, 13 measures a position of the cylinders 8, 11. A bar end recognition sensor 14 separates a bar and a transfer mechanism of the clamp device 5a. With using an output of the bar end recognition sensor 14 and an output of the position detection sensors 12, 13 of the clamp device, elevating/lowering/advancing/ retreating position control of the clamp devices 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b is conducted with using a controller 21. By this method, a butting shape of the bar is controlled to a condition suitable for welding.
