<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compress handwriting data without damaging readability with low calculation cost. SOLUTION: For a method for compressing handwriting electronic ink containing a curve, an important node in ink is detected at first. The node is detected by detecting local maximum value/minimum value. At that time, false maximum value/minimum value owing to noise are removed. The curve is re-sampled by using the detected node. Re-sampling is executed by substituting the curve for a straight line by using polygonal approximation. Re-sampled ink is scheduled so that it is adjusted to target resolution. Re-scaled data is delta-encoded and is bit-packed and is stored.</p> |
