PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recording sensitivity and high speed recording characteristics of an optical recording medium by mixing metallocene compound with dye mixture containing metal chelate compound of azo compound and metal represented by specific formulae, indolenine cyanine coloring matter. SOLUTION: As a recording layer, a composition of complex compound of azo compound and metal represented by a formula I (where A indicate residue for forming a heterocycle, B indicates residue for forming aromatic ring or heterocycle, and X indicates active hydrogen), indolenine cyanine dye represented by a formula II (where P, P' indicate residue for independently forming aromatic ring, Q indicates pentamethine group which may be substituted, R<1> to R<6> indicate alkyl group, aryl group or alkenyl group all of which may be independently substituted or cycloalkyl group, Z<-> indicates anionic residue), and metallocene compound represented by a formula III (where R indicates boric acid group or benzoyl group, and M indicates Fe or Ni) is used. |
