<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To illuminate a reflection type liquid crystal display panel without disturbing the image and causing parallax between the panel and a touch panel by providing an illumination part capable of illuminating the liquid crystal display panel on a cap part while the cap part is opened. SOLUTION: A cap part 6 is mounted on a device main body 5 by a hinge structure by means of lower pivotaly supporting parts 9, 10. An illumination part composed of a surface light source 11 is provided on the cap part 6. When the light source is turned on, light R emerged from the light source enters into a light transmission plate from the end face of the light transmission plate, is totally reflected inside the light transmission plate, scattered by a diffusion pattern and transmitted from a light exit plane when the incident angle of the light R being made incident on the front surface of the light transmission plate becomes smaller than the critical angle. Consequently, the light R is transmitted to the opposite side to the light source in the direction almost parallel with the light exit plane. The cap part 6 is made to be inclined behind and the angle is adjusted so that the transmitting direction of the light R is oriented toward the direction of the liquid crystal display panel 3.</p> |
