TREATMENT OF SYNTHETIC RESINS AND EQUIPMENT THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat waste synthetic resins in a large amt. as fuel for furnaces and iron source reducing agents by efficiently and cost effectively treating these waste synthetic resins without the occurrence of problems by the chlorine- contg. resins and incombustibles contained therein. SOLUTION: This method has a stage for crushing the synthetic resins, a stage for removing the chlorine-components in the resins by charging the synthetic resins subjected to the crushing treatment into a thermal decomposition furnace having an incombustible discharge port in the lower part and heating the resins and removing the incombustibles included in the synthetic resins by discharging the incombustibles from an incombustible discharge port, a stage for processing the synthetic resins from which the chlorine-components and incombustibles are removed in the previous stage to the shapes suitable for supply to the furnace and a stage for supplying the synthetic resins subjected to the processing described above as the fuel and/or the reduction of the iron sources to the furnace.
