PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device by which a user can recognize the present location and advancing status on the whole by making the advancing direction of a vehicle roughly coincide with the displaying direction of a map. SOLUTION: A measuring terminal is set by a measuring terminal setting means 1. A direction vector calculation means 2 calculates direction vector from the measuring terminal and the present location. A map revolving direction determination means 3 determines the revolving direction of a map by defining the direction vector as a basis. A map plotting means 4 plots map information stored in a storage medium such as an optical disk on an image display device such as an LCD by revolving the map information in the revolving direction of the map determined. Because a revolution display of the map is performed based on the direction vector to be generated from the present location and the measuring terminal, the map is displayed by placing the roughly advancing direction on the upper side. |
