PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector and a metallic shell, in which the electric connector is provided with the metallic shell without clearance at a wall face and projecting portions formed by superposing metallic plates outside or inside and the metallic shell can be fabricated at the wall face, without clearances only by a molding process. SOLUTION: A metal shell 4 is fitted around an insulative housing 3 provided with a plurality of terminals 2, thereby constituting an electric connector 1. Stepped welding end edges formed at both ends 5a of a metallic plate 5 are superposed one on the other and are connected to each other. Furthermore, a compressed portion crushed in the thickness direction of the metallic plate 5 is disposed, in at least a part of a facing portion between one of the welded end edges and the step of the other welded end edge. Consequently, the metallic shell 4 is molded into an endless annular shape via a welding portion 6, having substantially the same thickness as that of the metallic plate 5.
