PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly perform near end detection of the developer and the developer quantity level in a developing device detection with reliability by providing first developer quantity detecting means detecting the quantity of the developer on a processing cartridge, and the second developer quantity detecting means on the image forming device main body. SOLUTION: This processing cartridge B is provided with the first developer quantity detecting means 5 detecting the quantity of the toner T accommodated in the developing device 2, and this image forming device A main body is provided with the second developer quantity detecting means 15. In such a manner, with respect to the toner T accommodated in the toner container 2a in the processing cartridge B while consumed for every formation of the image, as for the residual toner T in the developing device 2 becoming little namely, the near end is detected by the first developer quantity detecting means 5 before the toner on the developing roller 3 running out. Moreover, by providing the second developer quantity detecting means 15 on the image forming device A main body, the electrically erroneous operation is eliminated by eliminating an electric contact point, and the reliability of the residual toner T level can be improved. |
