PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor by which a satisfactory reduced image can be provided by preventing lines from being cut or scratched, when reducing an original image. SOLUTION: A correction part 101 outputs the image of an original in a main scanning direction as multilevel image data, composed of N pieces of pixels and based on these multilevel image data of original in the main scanning direction read for each pixel, an edge separating part 102 detects edge data expressing whether or not each pixel is an edge pixel corresponding to an edge section in the image or original in the main scanning direction and outputs these edge data to respective image-processing parts 103-106. In the case of reducing the image of the original in the main scanning direction into a%, through a magnifying part 104, the multilevel image data at a point dividing this image of the original in the main scanning direction equally into (n) pieces are provided, so as to establish the condition n/N×100=a. These data are defined as virtual sampling data and further, based on the edge data, these virtual sampling data are exchanged with the multilevel image data of edge part pixels. |
