<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the power consumption and to improve the picture quality, by providing 1st and 2nd transparent electrodes, which are formed separately to apply mutually different common voltages to mutually adjacent thin film transistors in the vertical direction. SOLUTION: The 1st transparent electrode 51, which applies a common voltage of 1st level to thin film transistors in odd columns along the vertical direction is formed separately from the 2nd transparent electrode 51, which applies a common voltage of 2nd level to thin film transistors in odd columns. In odd frames, V<+> is applied to the 1st transparent electrode 51 and V<-> is applied to the 2nd transparent electrode 52. In even frames, V<-> is applied to the 1st transparent electrode 51 and V<+> is applied to the 2nd transparent electrode 52. Consequently, thin film transistors, which are adjacent in the same row are applied with the voltages V<+> and V<-> alternately.</p> |
