PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liner light source wherein uniformity in the arrangement direction of light emitting diodes can be improved when covergency of the light emitting diodes is high. SOLUTION: End portions of concaved reflecting surfaces of the respective light emitting diodes 10 are laterally symmetrically cut out. A plurality of the light emitting diodes 10 are so linearly densely arranged that cut surfaces of the concaved reflecting surfaces are adjacent to each other. Two oblong plate type spacers 40 are inserted in spaces between retaining parts 26 formed in the peripheral parts of the concaved reflecting surfaces and a substrate 30, in such a manner that bottom surfaces of the concaved reflecting surfaces do not come into contact with the substrate 30. The upper surface of a diffusing plate 50 is formed to corrugate in the arrangement direction (X axis direction) of the light emitting diodes, and the lower surface of the diffusing plate 50 is flat. Light outputted from a radiating surface 24 of the light emitting diodes 10 is diffused in only the X axis direction by the diffusing plate 50, and not diffused but transmitted, as it is, in the direction perpendicular to the X axis. |
