PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To input a desired chemical formula and to arbitrarily add or subtract and display it with respect to a display device for displaying a chemical formula. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a chemical formula constitution ROM which stores various kinds of chemical formulas constituted of the combination of elements and the constitution of the elements of the chemical formula corresponding to each chemical formula. For example, when a subtraction formula 'BaSO4-O' or addition formula 'C+O' of the chemical formula are key inputted and displayed, and an 'execution' key 12e is operated, corresponding element constitution 'Ba<2+> ' and 'SO4<2-> ' or chemical formula 'CO2' are retrieved based on the stored data of the chemical formula constitution ROM, and a chemical reaction formula 'BaSO4-O→Ba<2+> +SO4<2-> ' or 'C<4+> +O2<2->→CO2' as the calculated result of the inputted subtraction formula or the addition formula is generated and displayed.
