TAMPER INDICATING CLOSURE ARRANGEMENT

A tamper-indicating closure arrangement (10) includes a female profile (42) and a male profile (22) cooperatively arranged to interlock and seal a flexible package. Upon opening of the flexible package the male and female profile no longer interlock and seal. The male profile (22) includes a stem (24) and a head (26). The female profile includes a pair of legs (44, 46) constructed and arranged to frictionally engage and retain the male profile (22). A severance portion (60), positioned within the male or female profiles, servers upon opening of the closure arrangement such that the profiles will no longer frictionally engage and retain one another. A method of constructing such a flexible package is also described.
