<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital tuner with which the image and sound of a program are not interrupted during viewing by the display of a program guide by reducing processing load when displaying the program guide while viewing the program in digital broadcast. SOLUTION: When a tag signal reporting the update of the program guide information is received during the reproduction of the program, program guide information superimposed on program information is received by a tuner part 20 and decoded by a decoder 21. Then, this decoded result is written in the prescribed area of the hard disk 32 and the program guide information is updated. When the display of the program guide is requested, on the other hand, the decoded program guide information is read out of the hard disk 32 and the image of this information is synthesized with the decoded result of program information and supplied through an audio/visual interface AV I/F 25 to a television receiver 3. Thus, the program guide picture is displayed while being superimposed on the image of program and on the other hand, the sound of program is continuously sounded similarly before the display of program guide.</p> |
