The invention concerns a method comprising two possible transmission modes: a first mode, whereby a first transmitter equipment (1) transmits frames comprising sufficient auxiliary data to enable the safe acquisition by a first receiver equipment (2) of the frame synchronisation, these auxiliary data including in particular a synchronising pattern; a second mode whereby said first transmitter equipment transmits insufficient auxiliary data to enable the safe acquisition by the first receiver equipment said synchronising frame but further enabling it, by means of the previously acquired knowledge of said synchronising frame, in said first mode to determine loss of synchronising frame. The loss of synchronising frame by first receiver equipment is signalled to said first transmitter equipment by a second transmitter equipment (15) switching from said second transmission mode to said first transmission mode, and by the detection of this change in transmission mode by a second receiver equipment (16), and said second transmitter equipment transmitting, in the second mode, so-called modified frames not comprising any sequence of usable data imitating the synchronising pattern of the first mode. |
