PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color-developing image forming material to be allowed to develop color by exposure or heating without using a leuco dye and superior in film strength, by incorporating a specified compound and forming a dye skeleton by an acid generated by light or heat. SOLUTION: This color-developing image forming material contains (A) the compound to be allowed to generate an acid by light or heat (acid generator), (B) an aromatic hydrocarbon or heterocyclic compound substituted by a functional group incorporating a hetero atom, and (C) a carbonyl compound or the like. The acid generator (A) is decomposed by irradiation with light or heating to >=100 deg.C and generates and acid and it is embodied by iodonium salts sulfonium salts and the like. The compound (B) and the compound (C) reacts with each other in the presence of an acid generated from (A) to form the dye skeleton, preferably, triphenylmethane type, merocyanine type, and porphyrin type dyes and the like. |
