摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an inspection time and to detect a small surface defect accurately by improving the resolution of an ultrasonic probe at a high frequency and increasing an energy density with a narrow convergence beam. SOLUTION: Driving parts 10 and 11 are mounted to guide rails 13 and 14 on a flange 3 of a container 1, and a surface inspection device 16 connected to it is loaded into the water in the container 1. Ultrasonic probes 40 and 39 with a high resolution (a high resonance frequency) and a high energy density (a narrow convergence beam) are scanned to inspect the presence defects on the surface of a nozzle 2. More specifically, the surface inspection device 16 is mounted to the driving part 10 that travels along the guide rail 13 via a shaft 15. Also, the guide rail 13 is mounted onto the guide rail 14 that orthogonally crosses the guide rail 13 and can travel with the guide rail 13 by the driving part 11. The driving part 10 also has a function for moving the shaft 15 up and down, so that the inspection device 16 can be installed at a free position corresponding to an object to be inspected in the container 1.
