<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for controlling power consumption at an electric device. SOLUTION: These device and method use an automatic power on/off circuit 100 provided with a motion detector for detecting the motion of object, closeness detector for detecting closeness between the object and the device by being started through this motion detector and infrared detector for detecting whether the object is a living thing or not, target tracer 290, CPU 225 for controlling these components, and control program. When the user of electric device such as a computer display 220 does not watch that device or does not stay near the device, the consumption of power for that device is controlled and power consumption is reduced.</p> |
