PALETTE DOCKING OF COMPUTER DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To combine palettes on a computer display by docking a 1st window to a 2nd window in response to a command and forming a single, composite window that has its own content and its own decoration. SOLUTION: A user moves a 'Color' palette 100 by selecting a 'Color' control tab 106 with a cursor and also dragging the palette 100 to a 'dock section' of a palette 101 so as to dock the palette 100 to a 'Paint Style' palette 101. When the two palettes are docked in this way, the combined composite window is shown to have content of its own and decoration. The content of the composite window 122 includes two panes of the palettes 100 and 101 and also its decoration includes a title bar 105.
