PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head assembly compatible with a DVD and a CD-R. SOLUTION: This assembly is provided with a fixed first optical unit 200 and a second optical unit 300 moving to a target sector while moving between an inner periphery and an outer periphery of a disk 8 (9). The first optical unit 200 transmits first light of 635nm for the DVD 8 generated by itself to the second optical unit 300, and detects information recorded on the first light returned from the second optical unit 300. On the other hand, the second optical unit 300 converges the first light made indent from the first optical unit 200 and second light of 780nm for the CD-R 9 generated by itself on an information recording surface of the loaded optical disk 9, and transmits the first light reflected by the optical disk 9 to detect the information from the second light reflected by the optical disk 9. |
