Nuclear fuel assembly transport and protection equipment

Equipment for the protection and transport of a nuclear fuel assembly consists of a receptacle (20) for housing the assembly with an opening to which a lifting device has access. A mounting device (30) is fixed to the receptacle (20) which co-operates with the lifting device. Also claimed is such a receptacle (20) having a lower part of rectangular shape and a wall forming several internal chambers within the receptacle with a cylindrical configuration and a transverse rectangular section capable of housing several assemblies. Also claimed is a method of transporting fuel element assemblies using such equipment.
