PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range finder realizing the current switching of a PSD (semiconductor position detecting element) without affecting range finding accuracy and without requiring an exterior fitting element. SOLUTION: In this active range finder, a switching means converts the currents from both end electrodes of a PSD 1 with I/V converting amplifiers 2, 3 and selectively outputs one voltage or both voltages. The switching means is composed of capacitors 4, 5 connected to the amplifiers 2, 3 respectively, semiconductor switches 6, 7 provided between the capacitors 4, 5 and buffer amplifiers 8, 9 respectively, and an amplifier 12 receiving the outputs of the buffer amplifiers 8, 9. The switching means makes a switching action based on the on/off of the semiconductor switches 6, 7. |
