<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a polymerized toner improved in abrasion resistance characteristics to a developing roll and capable of forming a stable thin layer on this roll even in the case of using the roll small in surface roughness. SOLUTION: This polymerized toner is made of the colored polymer particles obtained by suspension polymerization of a polymerizable monomer composition comprising at least a polymerizable monomer and a colorant and the toner particles have an average particle diameter of 1-20μand a particle diameter distribution (volume average particle diameter/number average particle diameter) of <=1.7, and fine protuberances having particle diameters of 200-500nm are formed on the surfaces of each particle. The toner is manufactured by allowing a water-soluble polyvalent metal salt to react with an alkali metal hydroxide in an aqueous dispersion medium to form a water-soluble metal hydroxide colloid having an average particle diameter of 200-500nm, and dispersing the polymerizable monomer composition containing at least the polymerizable monomer and a colorant, and then, suspension-polymerizing the monomer to produce the colored polymer particles.</p> |
