PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selective calling receiver by which a transmission number of a message that has not been received is confirmed without the troublesome confirmation operation by the user. SOLUTION: An unreceived message detection means 101 detects a transmission number having not been received based on a transmission number of a received message stored in a reception message storage area 53. Then an unreceived number display control means 102 controls display of the transmission number detected by the unreceived message detection means 101 onto a display of a display section 70. Then a re-transmission request control means 103 controls a tone signal generating section 80 to generate a DTMF(dual tone multi-frequency) signal in response to a special number to receive re-transmission of the message of a central control station of a selective calling system and to generate the DTMF signal in response to the transmission number detected by the unreceived message detection means 101.
