PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smaller sized portable communication equipment with flexibility and general-purpose performance by using the modular communication equipment provided with 1st and 2nd modular units each of which is provided with a user interface and connection interface between both the units so as to provide an extended communication function. SOLUTION: The modular communication equipment 102 is made up of a 1st modular unit 106 and a 2nd modular unit 108. The 1st modular unit 106 can receive a paging message even when it is stored in an opening 144 of the 2nd modular unit 108 or singly. The 2nd modular unit 108 has a function of a conventional portable communication equipment and is capable of full duplex voice communication and can receive a paging message in the case of being connected to and storing the 1st modular unit 106 in addition.
