An extract from the Centipeda genus is obtained by a successive extraction process using varying concentrations of aqueous-ethanol solvents. The resulting extract is effective in the treatment of various skin disorders, including the relief of itching and dry skin from psoriasis. The extract also has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, sunscreen and cell renewal properties.
