PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film unit with a lens where a light shielding cover is completely closed at the time of taking out a photographic film cartridge and the engaging part of the light shielding cover whose cross section is C-shaped is not remarkably deformed. SOLUTION: A driving shaft turned to the closing position of the light shielding cover 11 is stopped by making a locking lever about on a projecting stopper formed at the root of a non-return pawl. This stopper is provided at a position where the light shielding cover 11 is turned to the position obtained by rotating by 209 deg.±4 deg. from an opening position by the specification of an APS(Advanced Photo System) even in the case that the photographic film cartridge 2 housed in the film unit with the lens is deviated in the direction of the opening position of the light shielding cover 11 at most by backlash at the inside of a cartridge chamber 43.
