PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably improve operation reliability for failure of a switching element, etc., even when one switching arm is formed by connecting in parallel a plurality of switching elements. SOLUTION: In the power converting apparatus in which respective arm 15 is formed by parallel connection of a plurality of switching elements 17, the switching arms 17 connected in parallel to form one switching arm 15 are divided to a plurality of elements, a protection fuse 19 is respectively provided in unit of parallel switching elements 17 divided into a plurality of elements and when a failure occurs in one switching element 17 in one switching arm 15, a defective switching element 17 is isolated with a protection fuse 19 in unit of parallel connection. |
