PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the regulation of resistance and the control of electrostatic charge characteristics by mixing two or more kinds of carrier particles different from each other in the kinds and/or amts. of magnetic powder and/or inorg. oxide added by implantation into the coating films so as to form a carrier system. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic developer is a two-component developer consisting of a magnetic carrier and a toner. Two or more kinds of carrier particles different from each other in the kinds and/or amts. of magnetic powder and/or inorg. oxide added by implantation into the coating films are used as the magnetic carrier and mixed so as to form a carrier system. The carrier particles are different from each other in characteristics and are obtd. by carrying a catalyst on the surface of magnetic powder such as ferrite or magnetite powder and directly polymerizing an olefin monomer such as ethylene in a waterless system.
