PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satisfactory image by moving the image forming body of an image forming units having toner whose color is not used for image formation to an image-nontransfer position where a drive member and a driven member do not work in conjunction with each other. SOLUTION: The image forming body of the image forming unit having toner whose color is not used for image formation is moved to an image- nontransfer position where the drive member and the driven member do not work in conjunction with each other. For example, only the image forming unit 20Y corresponding to yellow (Y) is close to a transfer body 10, image formation using toner in yellow (Y) is hence possible, and the other image forming units 20M, 20C, and 20K are at rest in the image-nonformation positions by the operations of moving members 27M, 27C, and 27K, respectively, which are in contact with frame bodies 26M, 26C, and 26K, respectively. Under the condition, a photoreceptive drum 21Y electrified by an electrifying means 22Y is exposed by an exposure means 23Y in response to an image signal inputted to a CPU from an image memory by means of a writing system, and the image is developed by a developing means 24Y, thereby forming the image having the single color, yellow (Y). |
