PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve illegibility and disreputability when an omissive form character is used always and to make possible performing a fixed display with one picture as much as possible even when a character line is long by flexibly using the omissive form character according to the number of display characters and performing the display. SOLUTION: A controller 1 compares the number of total characters as a character line to be displayed with the number of maximum displayable characters (= number DN of displayable characters) in one picture on a display part 3. When the number of total characters are less than the number DN of maximum displayable characters, its character line as it is supplied to a display driver 2 to be fixedly displayed in one picture on the display 3. On the other hand, when the number of total characters are more than the number DN of displayable characters, whether or not an omissible character registered in an omissive form memory 12 exists is confirmed. When not, the character is scrolled. Further, when it is confirmed that the omissible character exists, the display character line is revised using its omissive form character. |
