PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an attachable/detachable display device which can be attached to/detached from an image reader so as to allow the user to purchase the operation display device as an option. SOLUTION: An image reader 1 is formed with a recessed part or a projection, an operation display device 2 that is attached to/detached from the image reader 1 is formed with a projection or a recessed part fitted to the recessed part or the projection formed to the image reader 1, and the recessed part or the projection formed to the image reader 1 is fitted to the projection or the recessed part formed to the operation display device 2 and the fitting of the recessed part or the projection formed to the image reader 1 is released from the projection or the recessed part formed to the operation display device 2 to allow the operation display device 2 to be attached to/detached from the image reader 1.
