A laminate comprises at least one sheet of fibrous material such as paper impregnated with a thermosetting resin copolymer of polybutadiene, styrene and divinyl benzene and includes a curing catalyst, bonded by heat and pressure to a substrate. The resin is applied to the sheet in a solution containing a curing catalyst such as an organic peroxide. Suitable substrates are fibre board, and cardboard. The substrate may also be impregnated with above thermosetting resin. A decorative paper may be used as the surface layer.
