PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert gradation while keeping gradation closer to original data even with respect to image data in a low luminance area easily apt to deteriorate gradation at the time of gradation-converting digital image data to data of a small number of digital image data. SOLUTION: Image data 1 is converted to 10-bit digital data 10 by an A/D converter 2. Data 10 has a lowest-order bit processed by a rounding processing part 3 to be converted to 9-bit image data 11. Data 11 is compress-converted to 8-bit data 16 suppressing the deterioration of gradation in a low luminance area in a gradation converting part 4 and then given digital image processing for a high quality image such as contour emphasis, smoothing by DSP(digital signal processor) 5 to be sent out through an interface 6. |
