PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the leakage of toner from a developing unit. SOLUTION: The developing unit is provided with a developing roller 211 supported rotatably by a shaft 212 on a case housing the toner, a supplying roller 240 made of an elastic body which is supported rotatably by a shaft 241 on the case and brought into press-contact with the developing roller 211, to supply the toner to its surface and a film-like seal member 275 abutted on the bottom surface of the roller 211, to prevent the toner from leaking outside the case. In such a case, the displacementδof the seal member caused by its abutting on the roller 211 is set 0.1mm<δ<0.8mm and the thickness (t) of the seal member is set 50μm<t<500μm. |
