PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the uniformity of a phase difference characteristic on the whole face, by laminating a polarizing plate and a phase difference plate with a specified pressure, and pressurizing the whole laminated face uniformly when the gel ratio of a pressure sensitive adhesive is a specified value or less in a method of manufacturing an elliptically polarizing plate by laminating the polarizing plate and the phase difference plate through pressure sensitive adhesive layer. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the elliptically polarizing plate by laminating a polarizing plate 11 and a phase difference plate 21 through pressure sensitive adhesive layers 12, 22, the whole laminated face is uniformly pressurized with pressure of 0.5-15×10<-3> kg/cm<2> when the gel ratio of a pressure sensitive adhesive is 50wt.% or less. In this elliptically polarizing plate 3, dichroic material out of components of a polarizer is a uniaxial elongated polyvinyl alcohol-iodine complex or the like, and the polarizing plate with cellulose triacetate films or the like laminated as a protective layer, and the phase difference plate with uniaxial elongation applied to a thermoplastic resin film excellent in transparency and elongation such as polycarbonate are laminated on both faces of the polarizer. A acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive is desirably used as the pressure sensitive adhesive. |
