<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily edit a character string of alphanumeric characters without typing entire character strings once more by inserting an editable space between adjacent characters of an original character string. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 24 receives an input signal from a document reader 11 through a cable 21. The input signal from the reader 11 consists of alphanumeric character strings and characters of each character string mutually adjoin. When the microcomputer 24 obtains an original character string from the reader 11, a single editable space is inserted between characters of each set of the obtained original character string. When the single editable space is inserted between the characters of each set, a corrected character string is generated. The corrected character string including the inserted space is shown on a display screen 14, thereby making it possible to easily edit a character string of alphanumeric characters without typing entire character strings one more time.</p> |
