<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform communication by communicating to a transmission path by using a long type cell that is longer than a specific byte fixed length. SOLUTION: In a long type cell 106 that is sent from a cell transmission processing part 102 to a transmission path 21, a 1-byte check code and a cell length indicator that shows the cell length of a long type cell are added into a cell header that shows a 5-byte transmission path 21 to be transmitted, and further, a conventional, >=48-byte payload part, e.g. 500-byte payload part 106d is connected to it. A cell transfer processing part 107 and a cell receiving processing part 111 identify cell length from the cell length indicator and perform transfer processing and expansion processing in accordance with identified cell length. What is more, though it is divided into the 500-byte payload part 106d here, it includes a >=48-byte payload part (in the case of 53-byte fixed length cell). In the case of the payload part of >=48-byte, an optional length payload part is acceptable.</p> |
