The screen includes two glass slabs flanking a liquid crystal illuminated by fluorescent lamps (1) placed behind a polariser (2). One of the slabs carries an electrode, defined by a uniform thin conducting material, and an array of coloured filters (6,7,8,9). The opposite glass slab supports an array of control electrodes defining a number of sub- pixels. Each pixel on the screen is generated by superimposing four sub-pixels: red, green, blue and green. The two green sub-pixels are asymmetric. |
