Fracture nail (10) for intramedullary nailing of long shaft bones (16). To avoid additional bolting or boring the intramedullary cavity (19) in the bone shaft region, a fracture nail is used made of a nickel-titanium alloy which is plastically deformable at a temperature lower than the human body temperature and which returns to its original shape at the body temperature. At the body temperature, the fracture bone has at least one deviation (12, 13, 14) from its straight central axis and at a lower temperature it can be brought to a substantially straight shape. The fracture bone can thus be firmly braced within the medullary cavity and fully stabilises the bone. |
