A process for producing L-amino acids comprising incubating microorganisms which are capable of producing L-amino acids, in p articular, L-phenylalanine, L-tryptophan, L-tyrosine, L-threonine or L-isoleucine and have an enhanced productivity of phosphoenol pyruvic acid in a medium and taking up the L-amino acids thus pro duced and accumulated in the medium.
