The torque measuring device uses expansion measuring strips (8), a signal amplifier (11) and a ring antenna (12), supplying signals to a limit value source or a processor. The coupling sleeves (6) between the drive shafts (3) and the worm gear input shafts (4) of the extruder (5) are each provided with a torque transfer section (61) and a torque-free section (62), with the expansion measuring strips secured to the former and the signal amplifier and ring antenna supported by the latter.
