<p>The freezer (10) consists of a wall structure including a first elongated freezing chamber (14) with product entrance (40) and exit (42). As the individual food product pieces pass through the product entrance or exit, they are supported by a product support member (12) in the first freezing member. A liquid cryogen injector (16) is positioned to create a sufficiently low temperature in the first freezing chamber for individually freezing the product pieces. A blower (18) provided with inlet and outlet, is arranged for directing cryogen vapours transversely across the support member, for cooling, agitating and transporting the product pieces across the support member. A second chamber positioned below the first freezing chamber receives the product pieces as they pass out through the product exit of the first freezing chamber. A movement unit provided in the second chamber moves the product pieces in a direction opposite the first freezing chamber.</p> |
