Composite product based on a heat vulcanisable silicone elastomer, which is suitable for making tubes or hoses

Composite material based on silicone elastomer which can be vulcanised when hot, used particularly for manufacture of tubular parts such as hoses, comprises at least one primary layer of said silicone elastomer, a secondary layer of a different elastomer, and an intermediate layer. Primary layer contains at least one 70-90pts.wt. portion of vulcanisable silicone elastomer, and one 10-30pts.wt. portion of elastomer of EPDM or EPM type modified by grafting; intermediate layer consists partly of EPDM or EPM modified by grafting, with silicone content of the order of 10-30wt.%, and partly of 10-50pts.wt. silicone elastomer; and secondary layer consists of elastomer which has complementary properties to that used in primary layer. Also claimed is hose made from said material.
