PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon for the extension of a high pressure stent. SOLUTION: An extension member 12 for a catheter 10 having balloon, which is used for the purpose of a stent distribution, comprises a double wall tubular member which is extended, has flexibility, and is adapted to be connected to the terminal end part of a tubular catheter main body. The external wall 30 is preferred to be made of polyamide such as nylon-12, and the internal wall 28 is preferred to be made of PET(polyethylene terephthalate). By appropriately adjusting the percentage of polyamide based on PET, the extension member which is generated as a result can be adapted so as to be reduced to a range of 15%. The external nylon-12 layer 30 provides a high abrasion resistance to the extension member 12. By annealing the extension member at an appropriate temperature, any kind of winging tendency at the time of contraction from there, is reduced. |
