PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photocatalytic body and an air cleaner capable of efficiently obtaining photocatalytic activity without increasing pressure drop of flowing gas with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This photocatalytic body consists of a light guide structural body 2 in which plural linear light guide bodies 3 having light entrance surfaces 3a at the tip parts are arranged on a plane with a spacing such that the light entrance surface 3a faces to the same direction, and also is constituted by being laid on in plural stages such that the directions of the light entrance surfaces 3a of plural numbers of the light guide bodies 3 arranged like a planar shape are mutually different. Metallic oxide having an photocatalytic action is formed on the surface of the light guide structural body 2. The light guide body may be of glass, acryl or light transmission ceramic and required to transmit a certain extent of U.V. rays being at least <=400nm wave length. As the metallic oxide having the photocatalytic action, titanium oxide having especially an anataze crystal form is preferably used. |
