PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a process for producing a non-cracking fatty acid metal salt block. SOLUTION: Referring to an apparatus 1 for producing a fatty acid metal salt, a fatty acid metal salt 6 is poured into the cavity 7a of a mold 7 which the bottom opening of the cavity 7a is stopped with a lower piston 9. While the salt 6 is being heated to a temperature between the melting point of the salt minus 30 deg.C and its melting point by means of a rod heater 8, the salt is pressed with the upper position 10. The mold 7 is slowly cooled, the upper and lower pistons 10 and 9 are moved downward to discharge the fatty acid metal salt block as a molding in the cavity 7a. |
