<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber compsn. which is excellent in processability before vulcanization and has characteristics suitable for various applications by compounding an elastomer contg. a filler (e.g. silica) with a polysiloxane having specified structure and average degree of polymn. SOLUTION: In the case of a rubber compsn. for footwear, 100 pts.wt. elastomer is compounded with 5-150 pts.wt. filler and 1-100wt.% (based on the filler) polysiloxane represented by the formula (wherein R<1> is a 1-18C monovalent hydrocarbon group optionally having an ether bond; R<2> is H or a 1-18C monovalent hydrocarbon group; R<3> is methyl or phenyl; (m) is an integer of 1 or higher; and (n) is 0 or a positive integer) and having a degree of polymn. of 3-1,000. Pref., the compsn. further contains a silane coupling agent in an amt. of 1-20wt.% of the filler. An example of the elastomer is a diene elastomer. In addition to a common inorg. filler (e.g. calcium carbonate), a carbon black and silica may be used.</p> |
