PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic porous membrane capable of being formed at temp. dispensing with refractory equipment and having practical strength, a ceramic porous member using the same and a method for producing them. SOLUTION: Ceramic sol particles (excepting TiO2 sol particles) of which the average particle size is 1/5 or less that of ceramic particles are added to and mixed with the ceramic particles so that the solid of the ceramic sol become 1-30wt.% of that of ceramics to form a mixture. This mixture is applied to a ceramic base material and the coated base material is heated at 300 deg.C or lower in a steam atmosphere or at 300-700 deg.C in an atmosphere to form a ceramic porous membrane on the surface of the base material to obtain a ceramic porous member.
